Leisuresec is committed to promoting sustainability. Concern for the environment and promoting a broader sustainability agenda are integral to Leisuresec’ s professional activities and the management and culture of the organisation. We aim to follow and to promote good sustainability practice, to reduce the environmental impacts of all our activities and to help our clients to do the same.
Our Sustainability Policy is based upon the following principles:
- To comply with, and exceed where practicable, all applicable legislation, regulations and codes of practice.
- To integrate sustainability considerations into all our business decisions, and make sustainable development a central part of our strategy for the future development of the security sector.
- To ensure that all staff are fully aware of our Sustainability Policy and are committed to implementing and improving it.
- To make clients and suppliers aware of our Sustainability Policy, and encourage them to adopt sound sustainable management practices.
- To review and to continually strive to improve our sustainability performance. In order to put these principles into practice we will:
a. Avoid physically travelling to meetings etc where alternatives are available and practical, such as using teleconferencing, video conferencing or web cams, and efficient timing of meetings to avoid multiple trips. These options are also often more time efficient, while not sacrificing the benefits of regular contact with clients and partners.
b. Reduce the need for our staff to travel by supporting alternative working arrangements, including home working etc.
c. Ensuring all waste and effluent is disposed of in a safe and responsible manner.
d. Investing in the development of new technologies and processes that will improve performance regarding their impact on the environment.
e. Minimising waste by the implementation of improved operating practices and by the recycling of materials whenever practical.
f. As far as is possible, we will arrange for the reuse or recycling of office waste, including paper, computer supplies and redundant equipment.
g. Reduce the energy consumption of office equipment by purchasing energy efficient equipment and good housekeeping.
- To subscribe to the principle of equal opportunity in the workplace regardless of sex, marital status, sexual persuasion, religious faith, political and trade-union views, skin colour, ethnic origin, nationality, age, and disability.
- To pursue and endorse the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights.
- To ensure effective communication to avoid misunderstandings when dealing with issues in the workplace to develop professional relationships in order to bridge the gap between low-level and high-level employees.
- To ensure that our employees always take responsibility and accountability for decisions made both individually and as a team.
- To establish an ethical supply chain by;
a. Ensuring that each link in the supply chain takes care of its workers with fair pay, sustainable workloads, and ethical work conduct.
b. To ensure that materials and products that the company source are not only economically sound but also manufactured through practices that are ethically and environmentally conscious.
By this policy Leisuresec recognises its responsibility towards protection of the environment and issues this statement as a commitment of both management and employees to ensuring a sustainable agenda is integral to the design and delivery of its operations.
